Nurse's Corner: Health Services

Welcome to the Health Services of Stillwater Area Public Schools

We believe that healthy students are better learners. To promote this, we partner with school personnel to promote the health of students and a healthy school environment.

Health Service Team consists of:

  • Licensed School Nurses
  • Health Care Specialists (Registered Nurses)
  • Health Paraprofessionals

Health Team Roles:

  • Licensed School Nurses (LSN) support student learning by implementing strategies that promote student and staff health and safety as well as provide direct nursing care. They are responsible for coordinating and managing the health needs of individual students during the school day.
  • Health Care Specialists (HCS) are Registered Nurses that assist the LSN in implementing and achieving the goals of school nursing and are able to provide daily skilled nursing care in caring for students during the school day.
  • Health Paraprofessionals (HP) assist the LSN in implementing and achieving the goals of school nursing in our schools daily. They care for ill and injured students and carry out delegated nursing activities under LSN supervision.
