SMS Fall Conferences 20-21

Each year our middle schools invite families to participate in fall conferences. We use fall conferences as a time to gather and share important information about your child that will support their learning throughout the year.

This year, families will have the opportunity to meet for 15 minutes with their child’s advisory teacher. Relationships are central to our middle school philosophy and your student's advisory teacher has worked to know your students over these first few weeks of school.  Our hope is that you will see them as an in-school advocate for your child and that these conferences will help build your partnership with them as we work with you to educate your student.

Our fall conference format provides time for you to share information with us about your child and raise any concerns you may have about their experience so far this year. Your child’s advisory teacher will share information discussed during conferences with other staff who support your child at school.

Time to collaborate and inquire about your child’s progress is not just limited to conferences or their advisory teacher. At any point during the school year you are more than welcome to arrange a virtual meeting with your child’s teachers to discuss concerns or gain insight on their growth. Also, please know that staff have been asked to check and connect with students and families on Fridays and will be doing so throughout the year to offer further support to your students.

Fall Conferences will be held virtually this year on the following days and times:

October 19, from 3:30-7:30 pm

October 29, from 3:30-7:30 pm

You can sign-up for conferences using Skyward Family Access. This link will go live on Friday, October 9, at 3 pm. Once scheduled, your child’s advisory teacher will send an invite with a link for your conference.

If you have any questions or need assistance signing up for conferences, please email Terri Christenson at  or call 651-351-6905.
