Pandemic Flu

Pandemic Influenza

Pandemic Influenza is a global outbreak of a new influenza which there is little or no immunity in humans, causing it easily to spread from person to person.  At this point, the Avian Influenza is still a "bird flu".

SJHS has pamphlets from Washington County Department of Public Health on the Pandemic Influenza answering some of the frequently asked questions:

  • What is Pandemic Influenza and its relation to "Bird Flu"?
  • What is the Potential for a Pandemic?
  • Is the U.S. Poultry Supply Threatened?
  • Us the U.S. Population Threatened?
  • What are we doing?
  • What can you do?

If you would like a copy of this pamphlet, stop in / have your student stop in to the nurse's office to pick up a copy.
