A wide variety of tests and assessments are provided to our students at various times of the year to measure their progress, as well as help them determine career opportunities, apply for college and seek scholarships.

All students are required to take the SAHS Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA) in the Spring.

- Reading in Grade 10

- Mathematics in Grade 11

- Science when enrolled in Biology

The ACT, a college admission assessment, is administered to all 11th grade students in the state of Minnesota each spring.  There are multiple dates in various locations throughout the year in which students can register to take the ACT as well.

During the fall, a practice ACT test is administered to all 11th grade students and an ACT ASPIRE is given to all students in grades 9 and 10.  In addition to helping students assess and build skills measured in the ACT, the ASPIRE provides teachers with data to direct personalized instruction.

Students may also choose to take Advanced Placement tests after completing an AP course, and other optional tests such as the ACT for college admission and the PSAT as a National Merit Scholarship qualifying test.
