Student Parking

SAHS Parking Map

2018-19 SAHS parking pass registration is now open.

Beginning this fall, we will be implementing changes to our high school parking system. The move comes in response to safety concerns for students who are currently parking in private lots across the street from the high school, along with a desire to provide more affordable access. Not only is it unsafe to park in the private lots and then walk across the busy street to school, but those lots are private property and the students are subject to towing by parking there.

  • We are offering a three-tiered parking fee to give students the option of paying less for a spot that is slightly further from a school entrance. This map shows the three areas: Red Lot = $250/year; Black Lot = $200/year; Gray Lot = $175/year.

  • We will provide hang-tag permits rather than car stickers to make it easier for students who use multiple cars during the school year.

  • All 11th and 12th graders will learn parking lot safety at the start of the school year, regardless of whether or not they have purchased a parking permit.

  • Staff and students are expected to park in their designated areas.

  • Penalties are the same for parking without a permit and parking in the wrong lot:

    • First offense: Warning

    • Second offense: Boot on car, rendering it unable to move

    • Third offense: Tow and lose parking privileges

Additional information is in our Frequently Asked Questions.

We hope these changes both improve safety and increase affordability for students who drive to school. Riding the bus is always an option for students. We will pilot these changes for the 2018-19 school year and make any changes for the next year based on feedback. Thank you for helping us make the parking experience a safe one for all students.
