Registration for classes for the 2019 - 2020 school year is officially here!

The registration window in Skyward is now open for SAHS students and their parents to register for classes for the 2019 - 2020 SAHS school year. The window will remain open for students to register through Tuesday, February 5.

All students will need to have registered for next year’s courses in Skyward by Tuesday, February 5. To have your student register for classes, go to the SAHS website and select Registration and Course Descriptions (link: https://stillwaterschools.org/schools/high-school/stillwater-area-high-s...) where you and your student will find directions for how to register, course descriptions that may help your student decide what courses he/she may be interested in, and tools such as planning guides, graduation checklists, and NCAA Division I eligibility criteria to help ensure that your student registers appropriately for their post-secondary plans. Students may also access their Skyward account from this site in order to register.

Please know that the courses your student selects are requests. Registering for a specific course does not guarantee that a student will be enrolled in the class as occasionally there are conflicts which preclude a student’s ability to schedule into all of his/her first choices. There are also instances where classes may not form due to low enrollment, so it is important that students select 5 alternate courses in addition to the 12 courses that they are required to select. It is also imperative that your student select courses wisely and with appropriate forethought as staffing and scheduling decisions are made on the basis of student registration. These important decisions are accompanied by deadlines and timelines that are not flexible, which in turn is why it is not easy for individual students to change schedules once the registration window has closed, and why students and parents should consider the requests that they submit to be binding. While we strive to construct a master schedule that is as student-driven as possible (this is why many courses are not automatically run in the same period year after year as we build the master schedule from scratch), SAHS does not honor requests for specific teachers, and students should make course selections independent of teacher preference.

We encourage students and parents to consult with the student’s counselor regarding any questions about the registration process or what classes might be best for individual students.

We look forward to working with you through the registration process and to serving you in 2019 - 2020!

Sincerely,
Robert C. Bach, Principal
