Karen Rose Garden

The Karen Rose Garden at Stonebridge Elementary School is a hidden treasure enjoyed daily by students, staff and visitors to the school. Its protected confines create a sanctuary for songbirds and a microclimate which allows its spring bulbs and other plants to flower up to several weeks earlier than those in neighboring gardens.

Karen Rose Garden Past and Future

The growth and diversity seen in the courtyard have come from the vision and hard work of dedicated staff members and parents, and the enthusiastic participation of Stonebridge students. Fundraising, work days, and donated labor and materials have transformed the courtyard from an unplanted space into a diverse and enchanting haven for students, adults, and wildlife as well. As dynamic as it is beautiful, the courtyard will continue to grow and change with our students and our school.
