Infusing the arts and technology at Oak Park

June 02, 2015

Sixth graders at Oak Park Elementary took part in a collaborative project this semester incorporating technology, music, poetry, and visual art.

Students wrote haiku poetry based on the four seasons and created music compositions to accompany the text. Working with their art teachers, they created watercolor paintings to illustrate a background setting for the poem. Small movable pieces were then drawn, manipulated, and photographed. Students uploaded their original music, art, and poetry using iPads and Chromebooks to create short animated films.
