Both our Media Specialist, Mrs. Potter, and our Principal Mr. Drommerhausen issued reading challenges this summer. Today we celebrated our summer reading during an all-school assembly.

Mrs. Potter challenged students to complete literacy activities, such as read to someone younger than you or read a book with a green cover. All students who completed four activities over the summer received a bookmark. Those who completed ten or more activities were entered in a drawing. Congratulations to 5th grader George Nelson who won a Valley Bookseller Gift Card!

Mr. Drommerhausen challenged students to read at least two hours per week this summer. Many students took the challenge, recording the hours they read with someone or alone. Many students read over 20 hours this summer! Congratulations to Matthew Koen in Mrs. Sindt's 2nd grade class who read over 100 hours. Together Brookview kids read almost 1800 hours this summer!
