Schools closed, Distance learning through May 4

The Governor has ordered all Minnesota schools to remain closed with distance learning in place from March 30 through May 4 to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Steve starting teaching in the district in 1992.  He holds a Bachelor of Business & Public Administration from the University of North Dakota, and a Master of Science-Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He earned his administration license and is an adjunct professor (Foundations of Algebra) through St. Mary's University-Minneapolis.

He has served as PTA president and fundraising chairperson, SCEA representative and negotiations team, and district committees. He was a Minnesota Teacher of the Year finalist and was also nominated for Presidential Award for Math and Science.

He loves when his students feel part of a family and feel safe to express themselves. His biggest thrill is to see the students positively grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Steve is very involved in his church and serves in the youth programs; he enjoys singing in the choir and creating object lessons for AWANA.
