Roger began teaching in 1984 and joined Stillwater Area Public Schools in 1998. He teaches Advanced Placement United States Government and Politics and Psychology. I has also taught 12th Grade Economics and 11th Grade United States History as well.

An experienced coach, Roger has headed teams for Boys Basketball, Baseball, Football and Golf. He has also coached Girls Volleyball, Basketball and Softball. Roger enjoys fishing greatly and in 2010 helped start the first Fishing Club at SAHS.

Roger's connections to Stillwater Area Public Schools run deep. His wife teaches in the English Department and their two daughters are proud graduates of SAHS and are continuing their educations currently at Concordia College in Moorhead and at Michigan Tech University.

Roger's professional accomplishments include serving on numerous committees and as Department Chairman at Stillwater Area High School.  He has served as a William Robertson Coe Fellow at Stanford University in 1988 and is a Member of Pi Gamma Mu, The International Honor Society of the Social Sciences. Roger has been a member of the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association for over 25 years. He earned a B.A. in Social Studies with a history concentration from Hamline University and an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from St. Thomas University.
