Melinda Fierro

Learning & Innovation Coordinator - Assessment
Melinda started with Stillwater Area Public Schools in July of 2017. Prior to that she worked in Anoka-Hennepin as a teacher, teaching and learning specialist, and achievement coach from 2005-2017. She holds a B.A in Biology and Latin and Caribbean Area Studies from Drake University, an M.A in Latin American Studies from the University of California at San Diego, as well as an M.A. in Instruction from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. She holds licensure in K-12 World Language: Spanish, 5-8 Science, 9-12 Life and Earth Science, as well as K-12 administration. She is currently in the final stages of finishing her dissertation in Educational Leadership. 
In her role in Stillwater she coordinates all assessments at the district level, as well as the curriculum areas of Physical Education, Art, Media, and Music. She is also the main data analyst for the district.
Her family has lived in Stillwater since 2012 and she has three kids attending Stillwater Schools, one at each level. In her spare time she enjoys reading, biking, hiking, camping, traveling, and scrapbooking.
