Ms. Liz Nelson

Liz joined Stillwater Area Public Schools in 2006. She serves students in grades 9-12 with last names beginning with Roe-S.

Before joining the SAHS team, Liz spent 13 years at Stillwater Junior High where she served as a special education teacher and a guidance counselor. Prior to her tenure in Stillwater, Liz worked at the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf. She feels the most important part of her job is to help students reach their potential.  To her, working with students is a great joy. Liz feels fortunate that she has an occupation she loves.

In her leisure time, Liz enjoys traveling, gardening, reading, and the outdoors. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her dog, Hank.

Liz's professional accomplishments include earning a B.S. in Education from Minnesota State University–Mankato and an M.A. in Guidance Counseling from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls. She also holds a B.S. in Special Education.
