Bringing out the best in people!” is how Grif describes himself and his purpose in life. This “jack-of-all-trades” received his theatre training from Arizona State University and has been working with young people in the theatre arts for over 30 years. 

Grif is an accomplished stage and commercial actor, director, improv’er, and educator.  Grif was founder and lead consultant for Theatreferences, where he provided artistic, educational, administrative and technical support to a wide range of arts organizations and academic institutions.

His performance and directorial work has been recognized by the MSHL, Theatre Live!, American High School Theatre Festival, Broadway World, and the Drama League in NYC. As department chair of Park Center Senior High’s Theatre Department, Grif and his team created one of the top ten high school programs in the nation. Nominated by the University of Minnesota, they were awarded the opportunity to travel to Edinburgh, Scotland to perform in the International Fringe Festival.

In addition to serving as the theatre coordinator, director, and drama club advisor for the Stillwater Area High School, Grif currently teaches for the Friends School of MN, Lyric Arts Theatre, and the Brave New Workshop Student Union.

Grif is a professional certified life and leadership coach through the International Coach Federation and the Coaches Training Institute.  He is also certified laughter yoga leader, MSHL one act play and speech adjudicator, and member of the Educational Theater Association.
