Language Arts

Avery Bailey teaches 8th grade English at Oak-Land Middle School.

Avery loves everything outdoors including playing/watching softball, walking with her husband and sweet mini-schnauzer, hosting BBQs with friends and family, and spending time on the family farm in northwest Missouri. Other interests include reading, writing, drinking coffee, and flipping houses with her husband. Her passion for education began when she was in middle and high school. She felt incredibly loved, valued, and inspired by teachers around her and wanted to show this same support for children within her own life. Avery believes that every student should feel that they belong and that their voice matters. She aspires to create a warm and inviting classroom environment where students reflect compassion, integrity, responsibility, commitment, and respect.

Avery attended North Central Missouri College (NCMC) to obtain her Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT) degree from the local community college. Avery then transferred to Northwest Missouri State University (NWMSU) in Maryville, Missouri to receive her B.S. in Middle School Education, with minors in language arts and social studies. After graduation, Avery became certified to teach 5-9 language arts and social studies in Missouri and taught there for two years before moving to Minnesota. Avery recently obtained her M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from NWMSU and is excited to start her journey in the Stillwater Public School District. She is currently certified to teach 5-8 English in Minnesota.
