Opportunities For All

Big Opportunities, Personalized

We've made big changes in Stillwater Area Public Schools in the 2017-2018 school year - changes designed to bring even more opportunities to our students. We're encouraging students to explore their interests and passions, and we're providing them with more support and deeper relationships with our caring staff members than ever before.

Additional Supports for Students

  • Balanced elementary class sizes, meaning fewer large and small classes and more classes in the middle of the range.

  • Students now have access to support services in every building, every day including a psychologist or Student Advocate and intervention teachers, and English Learners have consistent access to an EL teacher.

We offer preschool in all of our elementary buildings. Children learn group social skills while they also work on early math and literacy skills. Because our curriculum aligns with what is taught in kindergarten and beyond, you know your child is learning skills that help them make a smooth transition to kindergarten. Learn more about preschool.

Middle Schools

Middle school students have unique needs, and we're here to support them every step of the way. We've created small learning communities (or teams), where students get to know teachers and classmates personally. We're giving students more exploratory experiences and offering them real-world learning through hands-on projects. Learn more about our middle school design.

9-12 High School

Our high school has grown and is now better than ever. Not only do our students have all of the opportunities of an expanded high school, they also have more support from their peers and teachers. Students have all the benefits of a comprehensive high schools - with hundreds of courses and activities to choose from - with the personal connections and deeper relationships of a much smaller building. Teachers get to know students, and students also develop close relationships with their peers by being part of the Pony community. Learn more about our high school design.

GATE (Gifted and Talented Education)

Our GATE program for students in grades 4-6 has moved to the Stillwater Middle School, and there are now expanded gifted and talented (G/T) learning opportunities for seventh and eighth grades as well. Learn more about our new and improved G/T programming.
