Mardy Wohlers and Barney Barnholdt have been named 2017 Senior Homecoming Royalty. The two were crowned senior citizen Homecoming king and queen by the Stillwater Area High School student council at the Croixdale Senior Center in Bayport.

For Barney, a 1949 graduate of Stillwater High School, it was like déjà vu nearly 70 years in the making. The star football, basketball and baseball player was first selected as homecoming king during his senior year of high school in 1948.

The Croixdale staff nominated six residents for the court, including Ruth Lee, Gloria Morin, Fred Marty and Ray Rath. Residents and staff then voted to select the king and queen. This is the fifth year SAHS has traveled to a local senior community to crown senior royalty. The king and queen and entire court are invited to attend the homecoming activities and football game at the high school on Friday.
