Stillwater Middle School students worked together to overcome obstacles in the first ever Pony Tough Run. Everyone in grades 6-8, along with the 4-5 GATE students, participated in the 1 ¼ mile course around the school. It was made up of eleven different obstacles, including a slippery slope, straw mountain, and warped wall. Students tackled the event in teams, running and rolling, crawling and climbing their way through the course.

Physical Education teacher Andy Olson designed the course and built the obstacles himself. He organized the event as part of the school’s Unity Day celebration.

“This tough run shows that we can do hard things when we work together and cheer on the efforts of others,” said Olson.

Olson says he hopes to make the Pony Tough Run an annual event. For photos visit our Facebook page.
