Fifth graders at Rutherford Elementary recently shared a day filled with kindness and respect. The students attended a Kindness Retreat, which was facilitated by Youth Frontiers and granted by The Partnership Plan.

The retreat was a high-energy day filled with singing, dancing and storytelling. Students were able to break into small groups to talk in-depth about bullying, as well as consider how to positively deal with unkind situations and find ways to make their school an even kinder place.

Youth Frontiers is a nonprofit organization that partners with schools to create more positive school communities through one-day, interactive retreats on the values of kindness, courage and respect.  The retreats create a "catalyst for change" by challenging students to think critically about the impact of their everyday choices and how they treat themselves and others.
