Middle and high school move to distance learning Nov. 16

November 05, 2020

Middle and high school students will be moving into distance learning effective Monday, Nov. 16. High school athletics and activities will continue as scheduled at this time. This change in learning model for our secondary students comes in response to rapidly rising COVID-19 rates within our community.

Here is the timeline for the move to distance learning for our middle school and high school students:

  • Wednesday & Thursday, Nov. 11-12: NO SCHOOL for grades 6-12
These will be used as transition days to allow teachers to plan for distance learning

  • Friday, Nov. 13: NO SCHOOL for all students K-12
This was previously scheduled as a grading day for teachers.

  • Monday, Nov. 16: Official start of distance learning grades 6-12

Elementary students (preK- grade 5) will remain in hybrid learning at this time, as will several specialized programs at the secondary level including our site-based Special Education programs, the Bridge Transition program and the St. Croix Valley Area Learning Center. District leaders will continue to closely monitor COVID-19 infection rate data and consider a possible move for elementary schools in the future, if deemed necessary.
