Graduation rates in Stillwater are increasing

The percentage of students graduating from Stillwater Area Public Schools is on the rise. According to data released by the Minnesota Department of Education, the Stillwater Area High School class of 2018 had a graduation rate of 95%, which was up from 92.5% the previous year. A total of 626 students graduated from Stillwater Area High School last year.

The district’s overall graduation rate was 91.5%, which was an increase from the 2017 rate of 89%. This average includes students from the St. Croix Valley Area Learning Center for a combined total of 704 graduates in 2018. 

Stillwater area students are also continuing to graduate at a higher rate than their peers across the state. The state average is 83.2%.

“This is a testament to the incredible work our staff is doing from preK all the way through our system to prepare our students for graduation and beyond,” said Denise Pontrelli, superintendent. “Together, we’re helping our students accomplish their goals and realize their dreams. We’re so proud of each and every one of our amazing graduates.”
