Celebrating ALC Class of 2017

February 24, 2017

They overcame great challenges and struggles to get to this point, but 21 students from the St. Croix Valley Area Learning Center are now graduates of the Stillwater Area Public School District.

The school celebrated its mid-year graudation ceremony by honoring the hard work and efforts each of the graduates have made to earn a diploma. Families, friends and classmates filled a room at the Stillwater Library to honor the graduates. The commencement ceremony included some of the pomp and circumstances of a traditional graduation, but like the students being honored, the ceremony was casual, humorous and joy-filled.

The ALC is an alternative to traditional high school. Students earn the same credits and successfully fulfill the state's graduation standards, but do so in a much less-structured environment. They work at their own pace to meet their individual learning goals. Learn more about the ALC. For more graduation photos visit our Facebook page.
