Four Stillwater FFA Members Selected for MN State Fair CHS Miracle of Birth Center Staff!

Four members of the Stillwater FFA Chapter were selected to serve as members of the staff at the CHS Miracle of Birth Center at the Minnesota State Fair. The four FFA members are Megan Schultz, Jonathan Kusz, Ashley Torkelson and Megan Wallace. They are part of a team of selected FFA members who will assist members of the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA), University of Minnesota veterinarians and interns in the care of newborn calves, lambs, piglets, chicks and other animals at the popular state fair attraction. Thirty FFA members are selected for the program each year from over 10,000 FFA members across the state.

  • Megan Schultz, a senior at Stillwater Area High School (SAHS), has competed in the FFA Small Animal, Veterinary Science, and Dairy Cattle Career Development Events (CDE’s), is employed by Stillwater Veterinary Clinic, and is currently the Stillwater FFA President.
  • Jonathan Kusz, a senior at SAHS, has competed in the FFA Livestock Evaluation, Agricultural Engineering & Technology, and Small Engines CDEs.
  • Ashley Torkelson, a senior at SAHS, has competed in the FFA Small Animal, Veterinary Science, and Dairy Cattle Career Development Events (CDE’s) and is currently the Stillwater FFA Secretary.
  • Megan Wallace, a junior at SAHS, has competed in the FFA Small Animal, Veterinary Science, and Dairy Cattle Career Development Events (CDE’s) and is currently employed at Stillwater Veterinary Clinic.

The National FFA Organization, formerly known as Future Farmers of America, is a national youth organization of 540,379 student members as part of 7,489 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
